The 2024 Food Animal Network Evening was held on October 30, 2024!

Each fall, the Gopher Dairy Club hosts its annual Food Animal Network Evening (FANE).

FANE is an event open to all members of the Gopher Dairy Club, the Pre-Vet Club, Agriculture, Education, Communication, and Marketing Club, and Block and Bridle on the St. Paul Campus. The goal of FANE is to provide an opportunity for students to network with organizations on a more personal level than a typical career fair and give industry professionals the chance to meet with the future of the agriculture industry. Internships and jobs are heavily promoted at the event by organization representatives and connections are made to benefit both students and organizations.

Thank You for a successful Food Animal Networking Evening!

The 2024 Food Animal Networking Evening hosted by the Gopher Dairy Club was a great success. 46 students and 23 organizations were in attendance for the career fair followed by a sit-down dinner. Seniors Sarah Hagenow and Ella Thome presented to students and representatives about tips and tricks on preparing for an internship/career. Everything went very smoothly, and we are looking forward to another successful FANE in 2025!

Meet the 2024 FAne chairs:

  • Megan Ratka, a senior studying Animal Science.

  • Alexis Hoefs, a sophomore studying Animal Science.

They coordinate the entire FANE event, ensuring every detail is covered. From reaching out to agricultural businesses interested in networking with our members to securing their attendance, they handle it all.

They organize accommodations, encourage student participation, and facilitate networking opportunities throughout the event. Additionally, they plan a formal dinner, carefully arranging seating with preferred businesses to enhance connections. They also schedule member speakers and workshops, providing valuable preparation and insights for attendees.
